March 2021 was relatively quiet, apart from four stormy days mid-month, but a burst of Spring warmth at the end of the month gave us our highest recorded March temperature.

February’s weather went from frigid to balmy in little more than a week, but it’s the ice and snow we’ll remember it for. Here are the details.

After a long run of months with above average temperatures, a cooler month. January was cold and wet, with fog, frost, rain, snow and even sunshine!

It was generally a typical grey, cool December, apart from being another very wet month. Storm Bella bustled through and introduced colder weather with frosty nights.

It turned out to be a fairly ordinary November, mostly around average for the time of year. The generally warmer than average trend of the year as a whole continued, however.

Nationally, October 2020 was the wettest ever recorded in the UK. So it is not surprising that it was also not only our wettest October but our wettest month in our 35 years of records.
